Go to accountscenter.facebook.com and complete the steps below.

TO STOP META FROM FEEDING YOU ADS BASED ON DATA COLLECTED ABOUT YOU FROM OTHER APPS AND WEBSITES

• Click “Ad preferences.”
• Click “Manage info.”
• Click “Activity information from ad partners.”
• Click “Review setting.”
• Select “No, don’t make my ads more relevant by using this information.”
• Click “Confirm.”

TO STOP META FROM USING YOUR DATA TO HELP ADVERTISERS TARGET YOU ON OTHER APPS

• Click “Ad preferences.”
• Click “Manage info.”
• Click “Ads from ad partners.”
• Select “Don’t show me ads from ad partners.”
• Click the “X” button to close out.

TO UNLINK YOUR ACCOUNT FROM THE DATA ABOUT YOU THAT OTHER COMPANIES GIVE TO META

• Click “Your information and permissions.”
• Click “Your activity off Meta technologies.”
• Click “Manage future activity.”
• Select “Disconnect future activity.”
• Click “Continue.”
• Click “Disconnect future activity.”

If your Facebook and Instagram accounts are linked, you’re good to go!

If your Facebook and Instagram accounts are NOT linked, go to accountscenter.instagram.com and repeat the steps above.

OTHER STEPS YOU CAN TAKE:

• Use a privacy-focused web browser like Firefox.
• Add a browser extension like Privacy Badger to block advertisers and other third parties from tracking you. 
• Disable your phone’s advertising identifier (see instructions for iOS and Android devices).
